THE REAL THING OR A HOAX? THE SWINE FLU HAS SENT A NEW RING OF TERROR TO PEOPLE ACROSS THE WORLD RECENTLY. ACCORDING TO THE CDC, CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL AND PREVENTION, STATISTICS SHOWED THAT THERE WHERE 160 CASES IN THE U.S. AND ONLY ONE CONFIRMED DEATH. ONLY ONE PERSON?....THE SWINE FLU IS NO WORSE THAN THE REGULAR FLU THAT GETS US DURING THE WINTER. THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF THE PIG FLU AND THE REGULAR FLU ARE THE EXACT SAME. IF THE REGULAR CASES OF INFLUENZA WERE TRACKED AS MUCH AS THEY TRACKED THE BIRD OR SWINE FLU....THE STATS WILL SHOW AN ABUNDANCE OF CASES THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. SO, IS THIS A HOAX?? OR ARE THOSE BUSINESSES THAT SELL PORK, OTHER PRODUCTS SUCH AS MASKS AND THAT GREAT MEDICINE CALLED TAMIFLU CAN CAPITALIZE ON IT, JUST LIKE THE BIRD FLU??? OR ARE WE JUST CRAZY?? THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION, OR W.H.O., DIDN'T EVEN GIVE IT PANDEMIC STATUS. THIS IS MAINLY BECAUSE THE VIRUS CAN NOT LIVE DURING THE SUMMER. DURING THE INITIAL HYPE OF THE FLU, OUR 1ST BLACK PRESIDENT-BARACK OBAMA STATED THAT IT WASN'T A BIG CAUSE OF CONCERN FOR OUR COUNTRY AT THIS TIME. WITH ALL THIS SAID, THE BEST WAY TO FIGHT OFF ANY SICKLY ELEMENT IS PRACTICING GOOD HAND WASHING, EXERCISE, AND MAINTAINING A HEALTHY DIET. THOSE THINGS WILL ENSURE YOUR CHANCES OF GETTING THE FLU WILL BE LITTLE TO NONE. THERE IS NO NEED TO SPEND MONEY ON TAMIFLU, MASKS, AND OTHER ANTI-FLU PRODUCTS, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE ECONOMY IS IN THE CURRENT RECESSION STATUS. BUY SOME THERAFLU AND SOUP AND CALL IT A DAY. KNOW THE FACTS, CHECK THE STATS!!! AND LEAVE THAT SWINE ALONE...YOU ALREADY KNOW THAT ALL PIGS ARE BAD FOR YOUR HEALTH....
For more info you can check these stats: http://www.cdc.gov/ or http://www.who.int/
FOOD FOR THOUGHT FROM WIKIPEDIA: Transmission of swine influenza virus from pigs to humans is not common. When it is transmitted, it does not always cause human influenza; often, the only sign of infection is the presence of antibodies, detectable only by laboratory tests. When transmission results in influenza in a human, it is called zoonotic swine flu. People who work with pigs, especially people with intense exposures, are at risk of catching swine flu. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swine_influenza
